farm country is everywhere

Self-sustaining farms are popping up all over the places.

From prisons like Angola in Lousiana. A documentary about which will air on National Geographic Channel on June 16th.

To Schools in Naples.

Samantha Maddux, 7, takes time to smell the mint after harvesting a batch from a garden at Veterans Memorial Elementary School on Thursday, part of the growing connection program.

To rooftops in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

And even guerilla farming which uses space that may or may not be entirely yours.

All these efforts may make it easier to eat locally, even for us urbanites.
